Just a wee update on Kidzeco and our new Family Pantry.
Our Family Pantry is opening on Tuesday 5th May, 12 – 2 pm in Kidz n Kin, 3a The Centre, EH54 6NB. There will be a selection of food and toiletries available for families to pop in and take what they need. Please note that we are looking to support families with pre school children who cannot currently access any free school meal provisions. There is no referral required for this service. Please note that the car park barrier has been removed to assist with this so access to car park is available and free of charge 🙂
Our KidzStart project continues to accept referrals for baby essentials. We will deliver where we can but keyworkers are also able to get in touch and pick up items for families on the days our Pantry runs.
Stay safe everyone.
PHOTO ON YOUR DOORSTEP
During lockdown Lyndsey Roberton has started photographing local people on their doorsteps as a record of our wee village during this unique time. Lyndsey would love to get as many households as possible. If you would like to be part of it please PM her via facebook and she’ll pop by on her daily walk/cycle, sticking to social distancing and it will only take minutes.
KIRKNEWTON ARMY STORIES
Kirknewton’s history has been linked to the army for many years. As part of the VE celebrations and our Kirknewton History Project we’d love to hear your stories about the army base, the airfield, when US soldiers were based here, the events, did you ever see Max Bygraves perform (he was stationed here), is it true film star Paul Newman was based here, what did you do in the cold war, did you visit the secret bunker and your own war stories abroad. Share them here https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/kirkhistory and once lockdown is complete we may speak to you more about your memories https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/kirkhistory
