We’ve heard some inspirational stories in Kirknewton during lockdown. These are about people helping each other and from bagpipe playing to singing on the doorstep to support the NHS. This was shared on the facebook group by James Hughes – thought you might like to donate.
On 23rd April my daughter Lindsey Begg posted about me Singing for the Carers. For the last 6 weeks I’ve been opening my doors and and windows and singing for the Carers, particularly the Nursing and Caring Staff at the Peacock Home in Livingston, where my lovely late wife Joyce was cared for for nearly 6 and a half years.
The last 2 weeks I’ve been singing live on Facebook and my son set up a fundraising site to raise funds for PPE for the Peacock. He set an initial target of £250 which we smashed the first night. The target was extended to £500. We are now sitting at £360 and are now looking for your help to achieve this goal.
I do hope that you will not need to have to call on the services of the Peacock Nursing Home, but if you do, you will not find a better Home for your relative. They are wonderful and I now ask for your support to help these nurses and carers.
Thanking you in anticipation. You never know when you’ll need their help. I didn’t. Xx
