Virgin Media expansion latest

Some information from Kyle Dodd, Community Liaison Officer, in relation to Virgin network expansion within Kirknewton.

As I’m sure you may know Virgin Media is expanding our ultra-fast broadband connection to the community of Kirknewton. This was a result of a competition that was held last year where we wanted to hear from the areas of demand in which residents want to connect our network.  Kirknewton came out in 1st place, which was a major achievement.

We’ve approached a tricky area of our expansion works where we required to complete a few road crossings in order to connect our network up.  We have notified the local roads team and we’re working in co-ordination with their suggestions and advice. However, the works may cause some disruption to local traffic and the community. I just wanted to inform you in advance of us starting so that you’re aware of what we’re doing.

We would be implementing traffic management measures and in certain cases parking restrictions to ensure a safe but smooth connection.  The estimated dates of the works are from 23rd Jan – 31st March. I’ve listed below the areas of the works and the parking restrictions. Attached is also the letter that our contract partners will be sending out to local residents and we’ll be sending to those who live near the areas that explains what we’re doing.
