Fergal Coffey, who plans to open a pharmacy in Kirknewton, is delighted to tell you they received news this week from NHS Lothian that the application for Kirknewton Pharmacy was granted. If there is no appeal they anticipate opening in 4-6 months time.
Fergal would like to thank you all for your invaluable input and support in getting them to this stage. Local support from residents, the Community Council and the Kirknewton Community Development Trust was definitely a factor taken into consideration during the meeting. Fergal is looking forward to providing you all with pharmacy services and sound advice for years to come.
Improving health provision was one of the objectives of the Kirknewton Community Development Plan, which is why KCC and KCDT welcomed the approach from the proposed Pharmacy. The Pharmacy will be based in the old KCDT office at 12 Main Street. Good news!
