Kirknewton Village gossip!

Well I never!  One of the benefits of being a Z list celebrity in the village is I get invited to various launches and openings and usually find my picture on page 73 of Heat magazine, usually with Katie Price in the background trying to get another autograph!

However, the real reason I get invited is due to the little know fact that I can also get you a cheap tea urn when required!  So it was with said urn in tow that I got to enjoy tea and cakes at the launch of the new Kirknewton Pottery range at Potter Around on Friday morning.  MSP Angela Constance said a few nice words to mark the occasion and I would urge everyone to embark on the pot hole free trek to the studio to see what all the fuss is about!   Karen and Julia – if you read this can I get my tea urn back please!  I need it for the ‘Your Big Idea’ drop in event on Sunday 13th March, 10am til 5pm (all that preamble for a cheap plug!)

But that is not the only party, party, party in the village.  If you would like to celebrate St Patricks with a wee drink or two and help raise money for your local Primary School then come to the ‘Irish Jig’ on Friday 18th March at Kirknewton Stables from 7.30 til late. For your £10 ticket you get a live band, fun and games, irish stew and a warm glow knowing your money is going towards school funds.  You don’t have to be a parent of children at the school to attend – just telephone 07834 982884 or e mail for tickets.  If you are a parent you should have received a form to send into the school.  Get your tickets today before they disappear!  If your names not down (or you are under 18) you’re not getting in!  Even with a tea urn, I hear.

After all this socialising there is nothing better than snuggling up at home in front of your warm winter woodstove.  Oh, you don’t have one but would like to know more?  Then the Kirknewton Community Development Trust just happen to have a seminar on that very subject this Thursday, 10th March from 7pm.  I will also be making a special guest appearance to give a sneaky preview of all the ideas shared at the recent ‘I Love Kirknewton’ community consultation.  So two good reasons to come along.

Better still, I will also be bringing my tea urn!
